Late Summer bike tour: Brandenburg an der Havel

take a train, take the bikes, 45 mins later you are in the countryside in a super cute old town with river path, old churches, medieval town wall towers and cafe with waffles and crepes on offer.

later on we cowered under a tree during a quick passing shower, but the rest of the ride was pretty classic. rode around a lake, picked up the train back to the city and ate noodles and sushi rolls in the Zoologischer Garten train station before heading home on the U-Bahn.

All these little towns seem to have a river, with cute bridges, and a bike path alongside. All of them.

Soviet memorial. Many small towns have one of these as well. This is a pilot, fist clenched with determination, on defeating the Fascist beasts.

Several large lakes sit outside of town, all linked by a smooth paved asphalt path that runs through the forest.

Shore play. Nearby the boys found an old tire in the woods. Closer inspection revealed Cyrillic words and a "Made in the USSR" stamp on the side wall. Just one more thing the Soviets left behind.

The closed train station of Kirchmöser. The train stopped here but the station building was fenced off indefinitely.
