Father's Day weekend activities in Berlin:

| Got a new camera (to replace the DSLR that disappeared two years ago during our move). We were down at Niederkirchnerstrasse, one of the few places where the Wall still stands, for some suitably sinister and drab Berlin photo-taking. IPhones just cannot do the zoom like a real lens. |

| Exploring a WWII air raid bunker built underneath one of the main train stations. This is the old ventilation and blower equipment. A group runs tours through these old places, of which Berlin has a few. |

| Old tin shield, one of the type they installed around the city when the Marshall Plan money started rolling in. |

| Cellars of an old brewery that were used as starting points to dig tunnels underneath the Wall at Bernauer Strasse. Met and chatted with robust old guys who had actually dug those tunnels. They had some crazy stories...and it is amazing they weren't all killed by either cave-ins or the Stasi. |

This guy was an incredible piece of work who gave an interesting history of Carrillon towers in Europe and America and the dying art of it all. | Bells cast for the 1987 750th Anniversary of Berlin. Paid for by Daimler, who soon lost all interest in further funding of the Carrillon tower or bells in Berlin. |

Wandered around and happened into the Bergmannkiez annual streetfest. A concern was renting out these spring-loaded horses.

| They had a shady lower area with a bunch of tables next to the lake, so we killed some time waiting for the next train back to Berlin. |
